2010-12-04 - 5:49 a.m. I have had a wonderful week but fear the pleasant fall weather is about to come to a complete halt. Next week's forcast has highs in the 30's and low's in the teens and 20's. I just don't do cold weather well at all. Guess I'll be covering up to my eyeballs and carrying on. Can't stop now; this farm is doing so many things! The two new Thoroughbred fillies are settling in well and have begun their round pen work. Weezie (love that name!) seems to be a little more agreeable and level headed. She is 3 and never started on the track. Westie is 4 and a hellion! She is very smart but has such a dominating personality. When Ashley works her in the round pen she tosses that head and struts around like an Arab. What a show-off! Both mares have great ground manners but Westie will have more presence in the arena for sure. We have started our 'Lessons and Lunch' series of learning events. Twice a month we have Ms Jeanne Shaw of Atlanta come give Hunter/Jumper lessons. This has been tremendously successful due to Jeanne's wonderful way with horses and people. She has a fantastic eye for horses' movements. I am blown away by her knowledge. We are blessed to have her as a part of Team Pedal Bone. I have got to get a 2011 calendar! There are so many events already scheduled. I think I am booked clean up through March. Have a great week, stay warm, and get on a horse and RIDE!
